Follow up to my autism article

So, I went to the doc's and he suggested horror of all horrors that I put my son on medication, to help his suppossed ADHD. I agreed because I wanted to prove one thing..
That I am right..
And, guess what?..
The medicine did nothing. Not one solid thing. The doc gave me a follow up appointment and upped the dosage on his medicine.. And, drum role please..
Nothing!
I so love being right. I knew that the medicine would not do anything. How can it? He's not ADHD no matter what the doctor thinks.
After filling out paper work, he did agree that my son does have "some" autistic tendecies.
Try, this one for size.. Uh, doc, he's is totally autistic there is no some about it. I have told him so and others from the pre-school he attended years ago had been the first ones to tell me. I know my own son and no one can tell me any different.
How do you think that I can handle things differently? Should I have agreed to the medication in the first place? Is there anything that someone says about your children that you just don't agree with?
If so, please commiserate with me. I would love to hear your comments.
