Title:Rainy day come February way
Her blood froze in her veins as Alison stared at the apparition dangling before her line of vision. Lightning lit up the northern Hemisphere, thunder rolled, rivulets of heavy downpour dampened the front of her expensive camel colored cashmere sweater and white khaki jeans. Visions of horrific pain gripped her even before the swipe of death came...
Randy sat up in bed, sweat beading profusely upon his forehead. That dream had been so vivid that he had to grip the blankets keeping him anchored to sane reality. The same dream had come to him for four nights straight and he could not understand the reasoning.
Just those four days ago, his friend Elaine had informed him that Valentine's Day would be coming soon and he had better buy that special girl something or else face the girl's wrath. After that pronouncement had been when the vivid nightmares had began. The first time he had seen the girl Alison, the one he had a crush on since the third grade being stalked by some alien being.
The second time the vision had grown more intense and Alison ran instead of standing in place with terror. But, as always the monster seemed to be quicker, pouncing, and devouring. Every time she became further and further away from the being, only to be caught and by this evening, Alison had just stood there resigned to her fate.
Maybe the chili tacos he had been devouring lately caused his dreadful hallucinations?
Randy shook his head, only to curse seconds later when his alarm went off signaling that he had better get out of bed so that he could get ready for the dreaded school day. Groaning that he had not had enough sleep yet again, he sprang from bed, padding over to the closet to retrieve clothes he would need.
After scrubbing himself with his Spring scented soap and adding his favorite bottle of strawberry scented shampoo, he dressed quickly and ate his breakfast of a chocolate pop tart and apple juice as he stumbled outside the door. But, not before his mother called out,
"Don't forget your present for Allison dear!"
Randy stomped his foot, smacking himself in the head. He could not believe that he had almost forgot the most important thing that he had placed inside his backpack. Rushing inside, he retrieved the Black beaded backpack that dangled from his mother's outstretched hand.
She chuckled as he snatched his property, giving him a quick kiss on his forehead.
"Oh, mom!"
"You're not too old for one of my kisses dear."
"Whatever!" Randy rolled his eyes as he departed for the school bus again. Yes, he did not have a driver's license yet, but he was working on it for God sakes! He would have it soon enough, he hoped for his date this evening. If the driving test went well after classes...
