Follow up to my autism article

So, I went to the doc's and he suggested horror of all horrors that I put my son on medication, to help his suppossed ADHD. I agreed because I wanted to prove one thing..
That I am right..
And, guess what?..
The medicine did nothing. Not one solid thing. The doc gave me a follow up appointment and upped the dosage on his medicine.. And, drum role please..
Nothing!
I so love being right. I knew that the medicine would not do anything. How can it? He's not ADHD no matter what the doctor thinks.
After filling out paper work, he did agree that my son does have "some" autistic tendecies.
Try, this one for size.. Uh, doc, he's is totally autistic there is no some about it. I have told him so and others from the pre-school he attended years ago had been the first ones to tell me. I know my own son and no one can tell me any different.
How do you think that I can handle things differently? Should I have agreed to the medication in the first place? Is there anything that someone says about your children that you just don't agree with?
If so, please commiserate with me. I would love to hear your comments.

Yuwie website

This article is about a website that I now have on http://www.yuwie.com/ It is based on referrals through links and banners. Once you get the website, you listen to the video explaining how the system works. It is a website where you get a portion from advertisers each month. You set up your own website, post pictures, music, widgets and so much more. Any time someone views your website you get paid. Anytime someone reads your blogs, you get paid. Anytime you check out anything in your control panel such as pictures, friends, your own personal videos, you get paid.
You send out invitations for new friends that are on the website and others do the same. The more friends you have the better. The more they view your website and the more you get paid. It is sort of like myspace or facebook, except that they pay you for your time there. It might just be thirty eight cents on month but, the more referrals you get in the month, the better you get paid.
Or if you haven't got any referrals, you still get paid. Not much but, I think it's worth the effort if you are shy like me and didn't have many friends to begin with. That way you can socialize and get more people to view your work. Like if you are an author like me, you can put some of your writing their and get critique. It is so much fun and the people you meet are very friendly. They are not just being kind because they want money. They are genuinely great human beings. The site makes you feel a lot less lonely and you have fun!!
So, if any of this appeals to you, then please visit my site to get more info, you will be grateful that you did.. Here's the link again, www.tinyurl.com/2u2k72 This will take you to my homepage and you will be my referral and I will guide you every step of the way.

Autism: Why does no one listen?

This is my own personal experience with my son who has autism. I did not discover this condition until I took him to pre-school for his speech delay. I knew that something was not quite right with him when he reached todder status and could barely talk, he hated loud noises and hated to be touched. Then when he went to the Janet Clemmons Ctr here in my home state of Hamilton is when he finally received an unofficial diagnosis.
I wanted to get an official diagnosis but never could find the resources or time to do so. And, after losing my insurance(it cost too much and I had to abandon it), I just knew that getting the diagnosis would cost money that I did not have, and so therefore, I had to put it off for almost three years now that I have insurance through my husband's new job.
Well, I went to the pediatrician and I happened to be very sick that day..
I had waited for so long and did not want to put off the session any longer..
Well, big mistake on my part.
Not only was I sick, but, I had no babysitter for my younger son who is now three and so I had to try to keep an eye on him..
So, the doc comes in and he has no clue why I am there. (They did not tell him anything!)
I tell him everything about my son and the problems he has been having for years, and the problem with him at school.
My son can not sit still at school (He fidgets, makes noises and has even eaten stuff off the floor) And the worst thing is that at seven years old, he is only half way potty trained.
Well, back to the problems..
Toward the end of the visit, he hands me paperwork and tells me to come back for yet another visit and I think that they will do the testing for the autism like I asked..
But, no that was not the case at all.
When I got home I looked through the paperwork and one paper in particular caught my eye..
The bottom sheet read: Testing for ADD/ADHD or to those who don't know, stands for Attention deficit disorder and or Attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder. Needless to say, I was steaming mad!
After gettting there and waiting for an hour, trying to pay attention to the doc and my younger son at the same time without much success, at the end of that, the annoying doc gives me the paperwork for what he wants done, and not what I asked for.
I know kids with ADD, my nephews have it and I know my son is not at all like them. He is totally different, with a different tolerance level.
In closing, I am writing this article to get my frustrations out and to hopefully resolve this issue now that I am fully recovered from my allergy attack. I do not want any person to push me around and to tell me what is wrong with my child, I know! He exhibits every one of the symptoms Austic children have and through therapy, luckily he is much happier now than he has ever been.
Nothing will ever be easy with him but, he is well worth the effort I tell you.
Just love your children and fight for them. Bless you all out there.

Short story I am working on now

Title:Rainy day come February way
Her blood froze in her veins as Alison stared at the apparition dangling before her line of vision. Lightning lit up the northern Hemisphere, thunder rolled, rivulets of heavy downpour dampened the front of her expensive camel colored cashmere sweater and white khaki jeans. Visions of horrific pain gripped her even before the swipe of death came...

Randy sat up in bed, sweat beading profusely upon his forehead. That dream had been so vivid that he had to grip the blankets keeping him anchored to sane reality. The same dream had come to him for four nights straight and he could not understand the reasoning.

Just those four days ago, his friend Elaine had informed him that Valentine's Day would be coming soon and he had better buy that special girl something or else face the girl's wrath. After that pronouncement had been when the vivid nightmares had began. The first time he had seen the girl Alison, the one he had a crush on since the third grade being stalked by some alien being.
The second time the vision had grown more intense and Alison ran instead of standing in place with terror. But, as always the monster seemed to be quicker, pouncing, and devouring. Every time she became further and further away from the being, only to be caught and by this evening, Alison had just stood there resigned to her fate.
Maybe the chili tacos he had been devouring lately caused his dreadful hallucinations?

Randy shook his head, only to curse seconds later when his alarm went off signaling that he had better get out of bed so that he could get ready for the dreaded school day. Groaning that he had not had enough sleep yet again, he sprang from bed, padding over to the closet to retrieve clothes he would need.

After scrubbing himself with his Spring scented soap and adding his favorite bottle of strawberry scented shampoo, he dressed quickly and ate his breakfast of a chocolate pop tart and apple juice as he stumbled outside the door. But, not before his mother called out,
"Don't forget your present for Allison dear!"

Randy stomped his foot, smacking himself in the head. He could not believe that he had almost forgot the most important thing that he had placed inside his backpack. Rushing inside, he retrieved the Black beaded backpack that dangled from his mother's outstretched hand.

She chuckled as he snatched his property, giving him a quick kiss on his forehead.

"Oh, mom!"

"You're not too old for one of my kisses dear."

"Whatever!" Randy rolled his eyes as he departed for the school bus again. Yes, he did not have a driver's license yet, but he was working on it for God sakes! He would have it soon enough, he hoped for his date this evening. If the driving test went well after classes...

Drabble from EJ/JQ BB

"I want to get in your pants."

Brandon's head snapped up, his gaze sharpening on Sally, his nearest and closest friend in the whole world, and her tone of voice, along with her smoky desire laden voice, alerted him that her request was more than serious. "Huh?"

"You heard me big boy... Now, take off your jeans."

Shaking his head, he tried to clear it, and his nose scrunched up in annoyance. "Sally, are you on drugs?"

Flipping her straight, pale blond hair over her shoulder, Sally strutted toward him with a sexy sway to her hips. Her lips tipped up slightly, her green eyes pierced through him. "I am blessedly sober Brandon dear, I just know what I want.. Have wanted it for years."

Again, he thought, he must be hallucinating. "Sally, get out of here!"

Two more steps, and she stood in front of him, her palm rubbing his shoulder, an intense smoldering tint came into her brown tinted irises. "I am serious Brandon.. I am not leaving here until you give me what I want.. Something you what as much as I do.."

Brandon swallowed hard, as Sally, rubbed her palms down, coming to the button of his fly. "Now, remove these at once!.. Because darling... You should not let life pass you by.. And, in the end.. It is not the life in your years that count.." Sally took her fingers, unbuttoning him, with the flick of her wrist, her smile pure deviltry now. "It's the life in your years."
